NYC is the ultimate service city. They may have manufactured something 100 years ago, but this is service-city. Service city, means they run on industry done elsewhere, trade with elsewhere, agribusiness done elsewhere and the service-ciy is a support function of those sectors done elsewhere. That means: NYC to keep going need the rest of the US. Rest of the US returning to its natural size, NYC will need to d o it too.
