Your "trading range" looks good.

Now we just have to wait and see what happens to oil this year.

Great charts. Eye openers when seen together.

1Y charts: S&P500,TAN,FSLR,TSL

From the mid-summer lows, the S&P500 is up a spectacular 26%. We are overdue for a correction. Even in a bull market, stocks don't keep going straight up like this.

Initially, the solars followed the market up, with even bigger gains (TAN 6.0 to 9.3, a 55% gain). However, for the last month, as the S&P500 goes on to new highs, the solars have stalled.

I sold my TSL today, for a tiny profit. Still holding my larger FSLR position, but I'll probably sell that soon. I feel more comfortable being on the sidelines at this point, with this sector.

FSLR: up $7+ today, almost up to $150 (resistance, where it has peaked repeatedly).

It was announced yesterday that First Solar (FSLR) has cleared the last of the red tape needed to get the big 230MW AV Solar Ranch project in LA County off the ground... ...there were fears that this project would be delayed until 2012 due to an appeal by Northrop Grumman which was concerned the project would disturb their secret testing facility in the area. greenstockscentral.com

disclosure: still holding all the FSLR I bought at $125 and $126. I'll probably sell half at $150. Buy back beginning at the 200dma ($130), fully invested at $100 (strong support).
