my understanding is that the number is 387ppm...but 400ppm is close enough for government work. Especially if you are a government supported climate scientologist. Now that we are in a cooling phase, I expect to see the CO2 saturation levels start decreasing as the oceans become more receptive CO2 sinks (and less productive CO2 pumps. No doubt that the climate scientologists and their supporters will take credit for stopping global warming. Which will give the world at large a bunch of convenient scapegoats when the cooling drops below 1880 levels and we start having crop failures and famines.
