You have any idea about what the big drivers of corn prices are from where we get ethanol?

Sunspots. Lack of them leads to drought.

Cotton. Yep your undies have raised food prices. Cotton prices have soared meaning lots of bean acres in the South will be planted in cotton. That means bean acres will move North and the corn acres will have to compete in price to get planted in corn rather than in beans.

It;s a little more complex than most city people can understand.
