Christine:

Again I say "you are no libertarian". Most Americans today are not -- they do not even know what they believe in until they are told.

"It was a nuclear nightmare." -- Walter Cronkite on Three Mile Island incident.

As to Rack Jite on Looneytarianism, I do not count myself a Libertarian, but an Individualist. However, some of his sarcastic tripe is pure disinformation:

"Take your standard right-wing lunatic, remove the issues of sex and religion, add a double dose of selfish callous disregard, stir in a gun-waving madness putting even the NRA to shame, add a seething hatred of the Federal government, mix in a few ship containers of legalized cocaine and you got Looneytarians."

Right-wing extremists are fascist, not freedom-seekers; self-interest is rational and integral to personal success; the federal government needs to be changed and its powers diminished drastically; cocaine was legal until the early 1900s.

"Ideology: The Libertarian mindset stems from an obsessive adolescent hatred of authority in any manner, the inability to speak or write a sentence without a reference to the 2nd Amendment, and of course
that MAD MAX anarchy they wish upon the land."

To be fair, this ideology is more in the mind of the writer than the Libertarians. In the U.S. the original intent was the State serve the individual, not the other way around. The individual should be supreme to the State.

"Issues: Top three: The elimination of the IRS and income taxes, the full legalization of all drugs, and no gun controls."

The IRS SHOULD be eliminated as income taxation creates an economic lien on every American at the expense of their rights and liberties. It puts the State over the individual. All drugs should be legalized as they used to be, and no guns should be controlled.

"Heroes: Randy "Niggers and Jews should be deported or shot" Weaver, the Aryan Nation arms dealer and cop killer from Ruby Ridge, and David "Give me your wife, a little girl to screw and a baby to beat, for I am
God" Koresh, the Branch Davidian cop and child killer."

This is inflammatory hogwash. Weaver is no hero, role model or fighter for American liberty. The Aryans are little fascist punks, Koresh was a stupid mystic and the FBI and ATF he stood off are federalist strong-arm bully-boys, the puppets of Janet Reno.

"Support: The NRA, the Posse Comitatis, the American Spectator, the CATO Institute and Right-wingers gone off the deep end."

Conservatives and Liberals are both to be blamed and damned for the destruction of individual rights in America.

"Abortion: It is estimated that 40% of Libertarians are Pro life. Their 80's candidate for President, Ron Paul, was a rabid Pro-Lifer. Keep in mind what the powerless Federal government they advocate will allow the States to do with this issue."

Under the Constitution a woman's body is her own and she has precedence over a fetus. Individual rights supercede speculative rights. Abortion must stand.

"Civil Rights: The civil, equal and human rights women and minorities have gained have been from the Federal Government, without it, they would have no vote and many would still be bought for dowries or
owned by Whites picking cotton in Alabama. Again, keep in mind what a powerless Federal government will allow the States to do with this issue."

Alarmist rhetoric that has no real basis in fact if the Constitution were applied, the federalist would not have to exercise their illegal power over individuals.

"Gay Rights: Where must gays and lesbians go to gain redress for discrimination against them?"

Gays have no special rights. They have the rights of all individuals if the Constitution were applied and individuals were given sovereignity over their own lives as long as they did not violate the intrinsic rights of others.

"Libertarians may sound tolerant on specific issues in this matter, but again, think what gun toting anarchy will get the homosexual community."

Non-issue.

"Environment: No federal regulations. This alone will decimate America to literally look like a MAD MAX movie location."

Writer suffers from cartoon logic.

"Beware: Look what decentralization of federal power has accomplished in Somalia, Lebanon, Rwanda,Bosnia and most of Eastern Europe. Anarchy and religious/ethnic civil war."

False analogy. The U.S is not a third world nation.

Time to rethink, Christine. Start defending individual rights and get past the smoke screens.
