Dale,

My last comments on this. [i.e. - everybody can take all the free shots they want, I won't respond publicly at least.]

No board was spammed 50-100 times.

In fact, I don't think any board outside of those frequented by the biofreaks was "spammed" more than twice.

I agree that calling people lily livered cowards is unlikely to win friends among those that don't know the author or his sense of humour. As such that message encouraging participation in the contest probably didn't have the desired effect with any reader.

The best way to get even with Rick would be to submit the winning portfolio so that he's obligated to give his pledge to your charity. :)

Cheers,
Ian

"What if 50 of us each came up with a great cause and wanted to spam 50-100 times to promote it?

That way lies madness."

Oh, please. Do you know what it takes to administer such a contest? You have nothing to worry about. BTW, said contest is in its 11th year and has raised somewhere in the neighborhood of $40,000 all told.

Now that I've got that off my chest . . .

I kind of assumed 3 posts of similar material (where not authorized by SI admins) in one day constituted spam. But I can't find that precise a definition in the terms of use. It mentions in the FAQ that free accounts are limited to 3 posts per day. Is that supposed to read three substantially similar posts? What about paying or grandfathered members; is there a different standard for them?

Why isn't this stuff spelled out in the thread header? Not to mention the TOU?

Cheers, Tuck
