That's an interesting article. He has a point. An industry dependent on subsidies is always at risk of politicians changing their minds. Solar and wind stocks are going to be considered in the same category as ethanol stocks (and look what happened to them, even with continuing subsidies), until their costs of production are a lot lower.

It's true, the fiscal crisis in European nations and U.S. States, is causing subsidies to be cut. But it's also true, oil and coal are going up in price, and natgas prices can't stay this low forever. That favors solar and wind.
