Well, the way I understand, it is EXECUTED closing bid. Not just the offer. So your sell order would still be open and hence NOT counted into the closing bid price for that day.

JDN, First off, obviously the ask would have to be sufficiently above 6 3/8. Secondly, I'm not sure that a limit purchase for 100 shares would be sufficient as the MM might execute that right away. However, a limit buy for 1000 or more shares at any level above 6 3/8 might do the trick. Just be aware that if there is a gorilla out there who wants the bid at 6 3/8 or below, you don't stand a chance.
