>>I am having a little trouble understanding why men cannot simply be good husbands and fathers because it is
THE RIGHT THING TO DO!!!!!

I've been pondering this at some length, because I anticipate receiving straightforward questions on right&wrong from my daughter. I'm finding that describing ethics, and what IS the right thing, is awful hard if I'm trying to chart a course away from the myriad religions which surround us. Any religion's greatest tangible contribution is the provision of an external moral code. Makes Daddy's job trivial: "This is God's will".
I'm resigning myself to the idea that I won;t have any easy answers for Youngster, but will have to wax solomonic on a case-by-case basis.

>>Because a real
man doesn't show up in his wife's face full of anguish.

Amazed dissent. If anguish is the order of the day, a real man clues his wife in (assuming he thinks of her as a partner). 'Nuff said; I don't want you to have to dodge a volley of 'sterone-soaked bullets.

Hi Christine, I have also received Money World uninvited and don't give it much credibility as an impartial stock advisor, as the stories in it are paid for by the companies it features. They must do as many mailings as America Online! I noticed Eat at Joes before I saw the article when I was traveling through San Antonio, but did not stop. I wish that I had, because now I own some! Talk about a wild ride! It has been between .97 and $3.00 in one week. I paid 2 1/4 for it last week, just on a hunch that it will succeed. It closed at $2.19 today. Very dangerous pool, but I decided to get risky.

I repeat that it won't be long until Promise Keepers will be coercing public officials to parrot their "non-political" philosophy. They will be much worse politically than the Christian Coalition.
