TB,
If inroads are make into Intels' server market
by a cheaper/faster competitor that can use
NT and possibly Win 98 then why buy a product
that is already outdated. The technology is
comparable to Intels' next chip design but is
1-2 years ahead of Intel with a 64 bit product
that is supported by Microsoft and it is cheaper
than INtel can produce its next generation Merced
chip. Either way this will dramatically affect
how/what Intel does to do damage control to its'
eroding market share at the low and high ends.
I expect consolidation and cutbacks from Intel
to maintain profitablility, short term, since they
also have Alpha now and will likely start promoting
that product line within 2-3 months.
The reason I posted this was because of the
potential negative impact to the tech sector
and AMAT, short term.

just my opinion,
BB
