$56 for a complete x2 or and upgradable one? I bought my for $30 and spent $60 for software upgrade. It's extremely easy. As for ISP, I switched from MCI to IBM since IBM supported x2. But I absolutely agree with your comment. The two camps should sit down and iron out a standard today!!! If they continue to fight for their egomanics, even if their standard wins, the money already lost is more than the money to be made.

Can 3Com make this quarter? If they can't, isn't it about time to give a warning? I hope they can make it, my networking stocks are completely trashed now.

>> I still think that coms, rok, lu, asnd, bay are all shooting
themselves in the foot. I saw the Fry's ad in this weekend's
paper for a $56 USRX 56.6 modem<<

Asnd, bay, coms & lu hopefully will work together to get 56K standard
going in jan,1998.

Mot is already out of modem business. Hayes, Boca, Diamond can not keep up coms's price cutting. If they mach Coms's $56 for 56k modem they will be out of modem business too. I guess COMS's channel flusing may realy speed this up.

who is going to by chips (in volume) from Rok?

Well, Rok will be just rock.
