I like at least 2 months, but 3 is even better. I love Leaps.

Jack,

After cutting back on my option trading for many years (I traded heavily when CBOE first opened, but almost gave it up from 1980-1990), the discovery of LEAPS has made options once again a viable form of entertainment for me. With the old 9 month options, I found my broker was ALWAYS pushing me to buy short-term options -- 3 months, etc., for obvious reasons. When I could find an option with plenty of time on it, I almost always came out great. But when I listened to him, I got killed.

Anyway, LEAPS make options viable for me, as I think if you are paying attention even a little bit you can readily pick stocks that will do okay over a 1-2 year period, effectively reducing the risk of playing options. I must say, I much prefer it to going to the local track for a day. I'm with you, I LOVE leaps.
