I know what you mean about copy-cats -- there have been copy-cat shooters in the past that have used the words "Allahu Akhbar!" as they kill people. People like Major Nidal Hasan shot at Fort Hood. It is tragic. I wonder what his motive was? Maybe it was all Sarah Palin's fault!

Did you ever read some of the books about the early congressional fights in this country? My goodness- insanity (did you know one man was beaten in the congress by another- citation below). And the scandal mags- every bit as irresponsible (maybe even more irresponsible) than today. Anyone who thinks this whole "demonize the other side" thing is something new hasn't studied history. Irresponsible and scurrilous attacks go back as far as the printed word, and before that no doubt- we just don't have the evidence. en.wikipedia.org And that's not the only time one person in the congress assaulted another :-)
