Hmm, I would have distinguished between the Bolsheviks and the Menshiviks, the latter arguing that (a) there was not a large enough population base of workers to sustain a democratic revolt; and (b) a revolt without that base would either fail or produce some form of an authoritarian government, most likely a dictatorship.
