Uh, the weapon of choice in Mexico is the fully automatic AK-47. Last time I checked those weren't made in the U.S. I know this is the weapon of choice because I heard three of them discharging about a year ago about four blocks from where I live when three guys wasted two policemen in front of the neighborhood Oxxo (7-11) They even write songs about the f'n thing. They are however made in Iran, Hungary or CHINA just to list a few.
