It's worth pointing out (even if the tone on this thread has become hostile to civilian gun ownership) that for every terminal idiot like Loughner there are millions of more-or-less decent folk in America today who own guns. Hey, Jacque, I think it helps to make a distinction here. In her NYTimes op ed piece, Collins argued a familiar theme, gun ownership for hunting purposes but not the sort of guns the Arizona shooter had. Makes a great deal of sense to me. And even more sense if I were a law enforcement officer.s
