What if a nutcase like Loughman had taken a shot at Bush? We'd be having this same discussion but the sides would be flipped.

The Right blamed left leaning journalists for John Hinckley's and Arthur Bremer's (The man who shot George Wallace..) assassination attempts.

Bremer had Black Panther literature in his car (and other left wing material in his home..)... but in reviewing his background and motivations it eventually became clear that he was daft.

There's no practical remedy other than the public shaming that is what's now taking place. I don't know what it is you want to happen or why you don't comment on the same incitations to violence that come from the left.

I want people to stop defending Palin. Yes the public shaming is just what is needed - but then you go off and try to defend her, suggesting he was insane and that pumping by Palin of hate has no part in his actions. Either the hate pumping is wrong and we should condemn it or hey it's just a part of free speech.

How many times have I said this applies to both sides? I just don't know how I can make that any clearer than to state once again - this applies to the left and the right. But Palin in my mind elevated this to a whole new level. She mastered the art of flaming passion - resulting in the Tea Party. I happen to believe in some of what the Tea Party stands for - but not the hatred so often oozing from Palin. Condemnation her for her hate talk, that is what I want.

<<<I don't know what it is you want to happen or why you don't comment on the same incitations to violence that come from the left.....like the three I posted today.>>>

Public Policy should be made without regard to politics. What difference does it make if violence is like what we are discussing now or all the violence you can dig up committed by people on the other side of the political spectrum. We can't have violence. We should be defending and making excuses for people who committ violence and more importantly we should defend and make excuses for people who enable those that committ violence.

The practical remedy is simple.
