We are almost to "blood in the streets" but have a little bit more to go. This Asian thing is the excuse....sad but true. Tonite and tomorrow will be interesting.

I believe, in the context of the entire article and the sentences preceding it, that Eric B. is saying "right now we don't know how much inventory is in the channel and we're working diligently to find out. We'll have that resolved by January" i.e., they'll know the extent of the inventory that *could* (I'm not saying it will) be subject to return and therefore impact the financials accordingly.

Given the huge drop in sales revealed only in the footnote in the quarterly statement and mounting evidence that corporate sales of modems aren't meeting expectations this is what is worrying some analysts. If Robotics were still a standalone company the impact would be much more apparent than it is now.
