The bigger threat driving some to violent ends is the new absolutism that says when you lose an election, those who take over the government are evil, existential threats to the nation. That's how countries descend into violent civil wars, when the tolerance for different parties playing their part disintegrates into pure tribalism. That is the constant refrain from voices all over the right side of the spectrum, very well documented and easy to illustrate ad nauseam. And that is the unavoidable fact that many want to shy away from. They get off on the rhetoric of "taking their country back" from those who "stole" it in a fair election, but they won't face up to any consequences. A very sad trend indeed.
