How else to explain that the county elected political hack Dupnik Sheriff?

Local Politics. It's a Red Area. If Gifford has to resign for health reasons, a Republican is a shoo-in. Wouldn't that arouse the Left!

I wrote "Local Politics" as the reason the Sheriff's election.

"Pima County is one of the more Democrat-leaning parts of Arizona. In 2008, Barack Obama won the county, 52 percent to 46 percent, while McCain carried the state 53 percent to 45 percent."

The overall 8th District is Red.
