yes, I like him as well...his father was a truck driver and his mother a secretary...:)

On his investments, I think he has positioned himself as a bear fund, in the sense that he expects his clients to come to him for protection against possible downside market action, and that they will not bring their entire portfolio to him, but only a portion, as insurance.

I think this is so because his track record is good, but not as good as it might be if he took a broader approach. I believe his fund is up 120% since 2002, with much of this coming in 2008 when he was up 38%. While this is a good record, he could have done far better if he were invested in miners and gold...
