Jonathan, You are sure a brave BEAR to pronounce your opinion on these boards when the S%%T is flowing as bad as it did in the market today. Give us all a big bear speech on a day when the market is up 157 points and there might be someone then who gives a rip. ( For anyone who cares he has a bearish post on PAIR board also).

Garrick, the market will give us an answer by Friday it looks. I am sitting here pondering if people are not seeing the possibility of this turning into a bear market due to world financial conditions spilling over into the US market. I would not be surprise to see a DOW of 4800 in such a situation. NASDAQ could go to 1000. P/E's are forward looking and if forward is losses instead of earnings, the P/E's currently carried by many companies could be indefensible. When I look at all of the bank downgrades when interest rates are falling, I think people better start re-thinking the good fortunes the market has hosted the last 6 years or so and they better start THINKING more about what has changed. Deflation is the worry now, not inflation and the concern is getting more intense.
