Yeah, I'm not commenting on the tax, just the way of reporting the change. An objective report would just say the rate goes from X% to Y%. Saying there is a 50% (!!) increase makes it sound pretty awful, and indicates (to me, at least) that the writer of the article wants to inject his views on the increase (no good) into the story.

When you start at only 3%, it's pretty likely than any increase is going to be big, percentage-wise.

I'm still looking for the politician that says we're going to cut spending by 20%, without firing anyone. Those government workers who object are free to look for work in the private sector.....
