My daughter just told me she is a registered libertarian.

when I voted in the primaries in 2010, the pollworker said "oh you're a liberal. You're the first one of those we have seen today"

I stopped in my tracks and said "oh, I don't think so, try reading that again"

he said "oh...'libertarian', definitely the first one of those we've seen today"

registered libertarian.

The problem with registering that way is that it keeps you out of the Republican primary in most States. I was registered that way for 35 years. Changed after 911.

My daughter asked me last week why we hadn't heard more from the Libertarian party. I told her the people involved had done what I have done, moved over to the Republicans. Bush 43 was the culmination of the Evangelical/Southern strategy. That hasn't worked out well. They have run the party into the ditch, IMO. They gave us leaders that did not make economics "Job One."
