It doesn't work because most employers don't use it for that purpose. You're right - people get jobs through networking.

My son has put out dozens of applications on line.......it's the only way employers allow. He's had exactly 1 interview. I agree..........word of mouth.

I worked in the clothing business for 20 years starting when I was 12. Got out at 31 and wanted to drive a truck. Got turned down many times because what would a clothier know about driving a truck. Didn't matter that I drove a deuce and a half all over Germany for 2 years.
