<<Jon, Just look at P.E. 's. ASND has been devalued much more than FORE has at current prices and ASND is 2.5 times bigger. FORE has 1/2 the amount of shares! >> Not to mention that ASND is in a different market than FORE. FORE is heavily ATM to the desktop, ATM in the workgroup. Ascend is ATM in the internet, Frame Relay, Remote Access, IP switching, and routing. ATM is complicated to setup and most LAN managers in the enterprise (Fore's customers) would rather go with Ethernet (Fast, Gigabit) than set up ATM virtual circuits. Ascend's customers being telcos and ISPs are more likely to use ATM and have familiarity with it. Apples and oranges.
