My point is not about breaking ranks. Actually, it is about the opposite. The potential for the machines, in unison, to run indexes to levels that cannot be supported by the economic fundamentals.

It is about greed. And at some point the owners of those machines will say, "well, this is quite insane and I'd like to keep this". And then you will have your one machine breaking ranks by design.
