No, it's not up to her to go beyond it. She is a direct target of shameful attacks, so it's only natural for her to defend herself. Instead, it's up to the media to go beyond it.

I know you despise her, but don't tell me that Palin deserves it. Unless Palin actually called for the assassination of Democratic politicians, she does not deserve to be implicated for the AZ shooting. That would be a grave injustice and would suit the twisted motives of the shooter.


For the past two years, Palin has encouraged violence on regular basis if democratic means do not get the things she wants accomplished. Now that she is being held accountable for her words, she doesn't like it. Frankly, my reaction is tough shit.
