A memorial...with applause every 20 seconds...I turned it off and fought off the urge to puke.

I'm glad I missed it. Listening to Reza giving the keynote to the World Affairs Council was much more interesting, even though I pretty much have his speech memorized. He included all your points this time and your points provoked some very good questions.

Had one young man come up and and introduce himself to Reza and me afterward as the son of the Ambassador to Brazil at the time of the shah's overthrow. Fortunately they were out of the country at the time and he managed to escape the assassination squads. Says he's writing a book and needs an editor. Hmmmmm

One of the questioners, another Iranian, asked if Reza knew anything about the recent assassination of the shah's son in Boston. Of course, it's being reported as a suicide. His girlfriend drowned recently and there's barely any information out there about that.
