Isn't that the truth.

The larger investors just bail because they NEED to make their ratings and percentages. They can't afford to see their profit's fall. This was the general reaction to the conference call pull-out in Sept. They don't care what the story is, they just want out before the crowds. They'll move back in when they think momentum is returning (that's upword moventum :-)

I heard a recent conversation from the CEO of Applied Materials (AMAT) and he said business was great, will mostly likely continue to be great and wasn't concerned about the Asian Crisis. He was very hopeful about doing business(more) with China.

Does Wall Street care right now? Of course not, they want to protect their profits, THEY MUST! Everyone wants to be the fund with the best return etc...

I guess the best play is get out quick when they do or just hold on and average down. Who was it that said investor's should try and time the market?

Where will CYMER go? Who knows but it won't be in the single digit's. The company is not going to trade at book value with a p/e of 10-15?

I'm going to buy more. Everyone's waiting for the knife to bounce so they can grab it. Intel is the powerhouse and they're POSITIVE. Microsoft will introduce '98 and make Billions on top of Billions. They'll settle with the Fed's and on and on..

Aloha

I'm not sure where it will be trading in 6 months, but I had recalculated estimates based on some of the numbers they gave out at the CC and came up with a conservative 1998 estimate of $1.18 per share. Others on this board have figured EPS higher than mine and the analyst's who think they know Cymer's business better than Cymer are under $1.18.
But, based on 98 EPS of $1.18, I've listed some values below.

$55.00 40 PE
$49.00 35 PE
$42.00 30 PE
$35.00 25 PE
$28.00 20 PE
$22.00 15 PE

But right now the market thinks it's worth 17 7/8. Hopefully it will be trading at least somewhere in the middle of the range above 6 months from now.

Good luck
