That was a case where we were dealing with Russian Atheist Gangsters who didn't believe they were going to go live with 72 Virgins when they died. If the Islamists take over Pakistan, it could go nuts in a hurry.

MAD at play here....

MAD only working when your enemy loves life.
An Islamist such as Bin Laden or the Taliban have no love of this life, so MAD cannot be a deterrent on their behavior.
