and getting the same result...ie repetition,....things are even happier if one can achieve the same result by repeating the result using a different method,eg scaling up or by designing a more elegant experiment.

One of the more satisfying ways of verification is, for example, to observe an unexpected result coming from a complex process and then design a much simpler experiment to simulate the complex process and get the result in question....hopefully said experiment will also reveal the mechanism that produced the unexpected result ...once the mechanism is learned designing a solution to the problem becomes an objective.
