anyone who wants big cuts has to specify just what, and how they will maintain essential government services that exist now.

Well I'm not involved in government now, don't receive much of anything or pay much of anything (due to living overseas). I'll support any candidate who promises to shrink the size of government, and I don't really care where the cuts come from.

I don't know (directly) of any essential government services. If I lived in the US I suppose I'd like to have a police force, fire department, school system, but that's all local stuff. As far as the federal government goes, with unemployment at 10%, I suppose it would be nice to pay all of them less that they're getting now until unemployment hits 4% or so. Those that are upset with their pay decrease can go look for a job in the private sector, I'll wish them good luck.

Oh yeah, and I don't want to pay for their retirement or health care. They can do the same as me, take care of themselves.
