There is no comparison between NK and Afghanistan.

At least not unless China is going to repeat it's actions of 1950 and become not only a direct combatant, but also a "sanctuary" for NK forces.

The primary problem in Afghanistan is the inability of Pakistan to control it's territories that border Afghanistan.

To be frank, Pakistan is on the verge of becoming a failed state and plunged into civil war.

But what both Iraq and Afghanistan HAVE provided is a test bed for brand new technologies, as well as honing the combat skills of US military leadership and soldiers.

I just hope to god above that those skills are never required on the Korean peninsula.
