I see you understand that Afghanistan is not really a nation, but a convenience for the colonial powers of days gone by

It's a state.. And yes.. it was arbitrarily bordered like so many other states in the Muslim world.

But the US is not one ethnicity, now is it? We have people from around the world as part of our state. Yet, we have prospered for many years..

And most importantly, our "nation" is founded upon IDEALS.. not blood and tribal ties.

The values and ideals embodied within the documents upon which our nation/state was founded are just as applicable to every other nation.

And the people who will ultimately bring that to reality, it is my hope, will be the children of these war-torn divided states. Children who are brought up to understand we have far more in common through our ideals, than we have dividing up by color, creed, religion, or tribal affiliation.

We're not in Afghanistan for the adults Webster. They're screwed up and will like go to their deaths in such a state.

But their children?.. That's where the future lies.. and where change must come from.
