Though insane, the shooter could still be politically motivated- but because he is crazy, he may be acting on political motivations no one else understands or is aligned with. I think that's what Mary is saying, and I hadn't really thought about it that way, but she's right.

If God is telling you to kill someone, that's a crazy non-political killing. If you are killing someone because you think your country isn't doing the right things wrt some odd monetary system you have in mind, that's crazy political.

Is that what you were saying Mary?

I never said or implied anything about the logical abilities of insane people.

I am saying something bad happened and we should try to prevent that from happening again.
