Eric, The "Pope" of AGW, Michael Mann is under intense investigation. Should the outcome of real scientific scrutiny be that he deliberately has falsified his data in the many papers he has published, which also were the basis for many research grants received, he will be charged with fraud. Unfortunately, decades of table pounding by AGW proponents resulted in the creation of entire gov't departments, careers and gov't programs to fight a problem that doesn't exist. None of these people want to loose their jobs or go down without a fight. It will take time for the sinking of the IPCC and to close down AGW gov't programs and departments. Gov'ts must now consider the social and economic costs of global cooling and what can be done to accommodate living in a colder climate.
