In the end the solution to stories like Tucson, or Columbine or Virginia Tech really comes down to trying to assist the mentally ill before they act out- which is too mundane to interest most people. Assistance would take thought, and money, and a commitment to the mentally ill- I don't see that happening, but it would be nice if it did.

You say; his clear, reasoned, psychologically accurate explanation of how violent behavior can occur. It takes a lot of the steam out of the political diatribes.

I arrive at a different conclusion from his remarks;

e extreme nature of his delusions, it still seems a stretch of denial to believe that the long external input of extreme political rhetoric played no role in sustaining the sick ideation behind the act.
