According to evolutionary psychologist Satoshi Kanazawa at the the London School of Economics and Political Science, people who have liberal political views have higher IQs.

Well, damn. That explains this guy I guess:

If that was written 100 years ago, it might have some merit. But today, the "unconventional" view is conservatism.
Aligning oneself with conventional thinking like liberalism is a sign of low IQ.

"CNN writes, "These preferences may stem from a desire to show superiority or elitism, which also has to do with IQ. In fact, aligning oneself with "unconventional" philosophies such as liberalism or atheism may be ways to communicate to everyone that you're pretty smart."

Sounds like it came out of Fox News, not CNN......

What if most liberals live in areas amd associate with people who are liberal and atheist? That would mean for them liberalism and atheism aren't unconventional. Obviously, conservatives and traditional religious believers in liberal areas and mileaus must be superior in intelligence since they're aligning themselves with unconventional philosophies.

Tejek is a liberal who moved from Hollywood to Seattle. Obviously a dullard. Shep's a liberal New Yorker - he's just trying to fit in, no unconventionality there. Ditto for all the liberals in places like San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Madison WI, Vermont .... all the liberal ghettos out there.

Bill otoh is a conservative in Massachusetts, so he must be the smartest person on the thread. Conservatives in Hollywood must be really smart, especially religious conservatives .... like Zachary Levi:

Heh, it seems Satoshi has shown intelligent people drink a lot more too:

psychologytoday.com

And he is including binge drinking:

Since the consumption of modern alcoholic beverages - including binge drinking and getting drunk - is evolutionarily novel, the Hypothesis would predict that more intelligent individuals are more likely to engage in it, and the empirical data from the UK and the US confirm it.

I can guarantee you there's a shoddy study behind this.
