<<Man, did I get whacked today.>>
Only today? I've been battered for weeks. To the point that I wish I had known nothing about the stock market :-)
I thought early this year (Feb-Mar) was bad, but these past months were murder.
Awhile ago, a drive-by shooter came to this thread and identified everyone as idiot. I should have listened to him. :-) COMS is hazardous to one's health.

Any thoughts on an entry strategy into coms? Wait? Average in? Avoid?

Regards,

Gary

David,

I can echo that sentiment - for me today was OK though.

Last week I dumped every last tech that I had with broken technicals, my recent heavy losses reinforced the lesson (the tuition at the school of hard knocks was pretty high this time around) that when the a stock's technicals deteriorate, it is time for me to vamoose ...all that was left after my selling binge was IOM. I then shorted CPQ - I figured that with most all the peripheral manufacturers feeling the heat from this $1000 PC, the boxmakers margins couldn't be too far behind.

I think that for now at least, the easy money is going to be made on the short side of the market - even the oil drillers got whacked today.
