The "unfettered and unregulated capitalism" that Marx refers to leads to exactly what we have now...companies growing with no bounds, politicians for sale to the highest bidder, companies writing laws that favor them and paying to get them passed, competition being squashed using any means possible, using the miltary to cement business deals, and anything goes when it comes to lowering the cost of labor (including the destruction of the middle class and possible civil war).

Now if he instead referred to "responsibly and intelligently regulated capitalism", I might agree with you that it doesn't exist. But even then there are degrees and to a degree or by comparison maybe it does exist in some places outside of the US.
