Allen and all;

Toshiba ZIP notebook update:

I called CNF today and they confirmed that they started shipping the notebook ZIP's today. About two weeks ago I called and placed an order. At that time they said that they would take my order directly but that the drives would be generally avaibable through CompUSA by the end of the month. A few days ago I called to see if they had started shipping and they said that they were still waiting on drives from Iomega. At that time they told me that they were not taking orders from individuals but that I would be able to get the drive from retail stores in a couple weeks. I said what if I had already placed an order. They said then they would ship me a drive. The price I was given when I gave them my credit card number was $300+10 S&H. I will inform the thread as soon as I find out anything new. I might call my credit card company tomorrow and see if it has been debited by CNF yet. As soon as it, I will know that the drive is on its way. I have been waiting a long time for this drive and my decision when upgrading notebooks to stay with Toshiba was largely driven by the knowledge that Tecra's would be one of the first notebooks for which ZIP drives would be available.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow,

FF
