I chose not to make the run down to Lake Kissimme where the water was warmer and some big bass moved up to spawn because my older Skeeter Yamaha motor burns too much gas. That's where the tournament was won. So, It cost me $2500 to crash and burn, I saved $500 in lodging by staying at a private residence. I'll be spending the same when I go to lake Norman in NC in 60 days. I leave for Lake Lewisville in Texas in 3wks it won't cost me as much, but I have more money to spend on my Skeeter first, I think the Oxygen Sensor needs replacing I don't think I could have made the run to Kissimmee and back on a single tank of fuel if I wanted to? I need a new Yamaha SHO, you can run those for 3 days on a tank of gas! LOL....AAPL, CAT in the crapper? I wonder if it's safe to sell the ES yet? I could use about 100 points?<g> I'm not holding my breath yet, but may have found a buyer for my house, if so that will free up some cash for a newer Skeeter? With 19 Elite pros fishing down into the Southern Opens plus Roland Martin for a shot at the Bassmaster Classic it makes it tougher to get a pay check. Five of them made it into the top 12 for day three. They made a change which makes it tougher, it used to be top 30 fish the final day cut. It's good if you make the top 12. Bad for the other 18 guys trying to move up in points and money. I was nowhere close<g> This time. LOL, they should invite all 95 Elite pros to fish the Opens and open the Elites to us Bassmaster Opens pros, so we have can have a shot at the big money....down side is their entry fees are $5800 each event, but they get $10k back if they make the top 47 cut on day three, then the top 12 compete on day4 for $100k. It's tough.......
