It doesn't happen often, but today I have the same feeling about CYMI that I had about AMAT in the summer of 1996. AMAT had fallen into the mid-20's, stabilized a few months, then proceeded to break 100 on the upside over the next year.

What's wrong with this picture?!

Sure wish the last few DAYS, or WEEKS, let alone "months" had been stable.

I have a feeling that the cash defensive position makes most sense.

I might lighten my CYMI holdings by 1/2...if it spikes suddenly, well, I won't make up my losses as fast. On the other hand, if it goes lower, I'll have a bit more capital to buy in again or, better yet, to diversify into other depressed stocks...and if the market really corrects per IRAQ or other event, then the price I pay to re-enter will be less.

I'm a bit troubled by the over-investment of my portfolio into CYMI... and while I firmly believe that CYMI is the best hope for a fast retracement of my loses, I'm not confident that that event is in the very near-term.

There's a very good possibility that I can manage some regain of my CYMI(et als.) losses in other stocks...TPRO, JMAR, who knows...any suggestions?...what about SRMI?

Or maybe I should stay in as much cash as possible through DECEMBER...?

Anyway, just toying with some ideas and trying to put my love of CYMI into a fresher perspective.

Remember RITZ's comment that 1996 was "much worse"... well, that just suggests that 1997 could get "much worse."

Don't mean to be alarmist...just trying to vocalize my rough ideas and see if there are any more perspectives to consider.

Thanks and best of luck and fortune to us all!

FRED

Mark, maybe the feeling comes from CYMI bucking their closing trend of down for the day with a down tick, to down for the day with an uptick. Let's hope you're right on this. I feel like saying what my 2 year old says when he goes down his slide...."Weeeeeeeeeee". It would have been better if I were short in the stock, but I'm not. Too bad for my son because he may have to get a job rather than go to college. But I got 16 years for CYMI to turn around, so I'm not all that concerned. Just wish I had waited so I could get more shares.

As of this post time, Japan and Hong Kong reversed early losses and have gains on the day. Let's hope tomorrow proves today was finally the bottom.
