Nice "scoop" on some extremely important news ... this just shows how
serious the yield problem is over at AMD. Here is an interesting article
that was just posted on the Intel thread.

Vinod Vin Dham, the vice-president responsible for all of
AMD's microprocessor products, abruptly resigned on
Wednesday ... AMD watchers speculated that the resignation was directly
tied to the company's manufacturing woes. As the
executive responsible for overseeing the development and
production of the company's flagship K6 microprocessor,
Dham came under heavy pressure to wring more working
chips from the company's fab lines, sources said.

When AMD told analysts last Thursday that it would not
meet its target of manufacturing 2 million K6s during the
current fourth quarter, "we all began expecting something
like this to happen," one analyst said."
