The crops are grown by the locals. The trafficking and the labs are where the Taliban come in and the profits are made. If the crop is bought up by us, the trafficking and lab profits go poof.

It would seem if we bought the crops, we would be playing into the hands of the Taliban. Am I wrong here?

The Taliban gets the distribution now because that is the only way out. Cut a deal with the Kabul Gov and let them handle it. The PM's brother is already involved. Part of the deal would be for them to cut out and go after Al Qaeda. The Taliban will always exist in the Southern Tribes. Then get out of there and just don't let anybody from there into our Country.

Still a mess? Of course. But not our mess anymore.
