States Weigh Cuts in Hollywood Subsidies


The tax incentives that states give to production companies are a direct result of California's and Los Angeles' aggressive taxing of business along with burdensome union agreements. California has basically driven movie and television productions out of the state.

As a Californian I'd be really bummed about it except that my wife is in charge of tax incentive programs for one of the studios.
