It just downed on me that the Dirk Meyer story may not be all that weired. Remember early last year, there was a lot of excitement built into AMD. GPU was doing great. Fusion was coming. There was a lot of momentum, as least perceived that way. Now, it seems that NVDA has finally caught up with AMD in GPU. Fusion was well received but was not all that aggressive, especially in the hype of pads. AMD has been executing under Dirk Meyer and has finally turned around its terrible financials. But AMD is not participating the fad/hype of the mobile mania (smart phones and pads). That puts a significant dent in its valuation vs its peers in the SOX. Today, AMD is valued in the same ball park as HPQ:^)

On the other hand, if you count the goodies in the AMD store, it still has best combination of CPU/GPU talents and technologies. Go figure.

Llano and BD. Better be good. We shall see.
