No we won't - as long as there is oil to be found - we and others will extract it - so if you really believe we've hit the peak - it would only be a matter of a few decades to finish it off and entire world would be forced to switch to sunshine and let the healing of gaia begin.

Except that China will just snatch up all the oil that we deny ourselves. And they'll get that oil for real cheap, too.

Then they can advance their economy while ours is crippled by over-reliance on sun and wind.
