I see wishful thinking at work on the left. They were disappointed that O didn't even try to sell a single-payer system so they're consoling themselves with the hope that ACA will eventually morph that direction.

I never saw it that way. For ACA, as it is structured, to incrementally morph into a single-payer system would be a long and winding road, I believe. If it can get from here to there, so could any American industry.

But again, and hopefully for the last time, let me say that I don't like anything about ACA. It's massive tinkering with the current flawed system and will probably only exacerbate those flaws. The structure of ACA never made sense from a business model point of view.
